Show notes
Today’s guest is Helena Nikonole — a new media artist, independent curator, and educator whose practice spans hybrid art, hacktivism, biosemiotics, and artificial intelligence. Her work oscillates between utopian visions of a post-human future and a critical reflection on the dystopian present. Helena is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where she researches large language models (LLMs) and their entanglement with political ideologies. In this episode, we talk about the role of art in activism, the political biases embedded in AI, utopias and dystopias, wearable technologies, and why, sometimes, art is not enough.
